Established in 16th Nov,1951, and based on the Daxia University(1924) and Guanghua University(1925), East China Normal University imported some departments of Fudan University, Tongji University, Zhejiang University and St. John's University. East China Normal University was granted as one of the 16 key universities of China in 1959. The National Department of Education and Shanghai decided to construct East China Normal University together in 2006 and East China Normal University became one of the 985 Project university of China.
There are several core WEB application in East China Normal University, and key business system servers for important data files of each departments. These applications have close link with university’s information system and store significant data. They play an important part in daily work. Once the system breaks down, the university’s business,daily management and regular activity will be severely impacted, and data loss is invocatable disaster.
Demand analysis
The demand of East China Normal University is divided into 3 parts at present: application level disaster recovery of several WEB systems; disaster recovery backup of data on private cloud of 50 client servers and online migration of some old systems.
HA disaster recovery of WEB system application
In order to achieve disaster recovery of relevant WEB application and the continuity of business, it is demanded to replicate these key systems to disaster recovery server room through kilomega network. When local application systems have a problem, such as hardware breakdown and damage, the business system can be switched to disaster recovery system automatically or manually to ensure the continuity of the system, and the fast recovery function is needed as well.
Backup of private cloud
Achieve real-time backup of data aimed at teachers and departments of East China Normal University. Replicate data of source server and recover data from cloud when the source server breaks down.
System migration
Aiming at some old systems, for some reason(old or bad-performance server) there is need to migrate but cannot migrate for the loss of Installation media. We can migrate these old system online without halt. After the migration, backup server can take over all the business of the source server.

1.HA structure of WEB

Employ i2 software agent mode on relevant source server, and server mode was employed on backup server. When there is abnormality to the WEB system of source server, it can be switched to backup system of disaster recovery center to provide service, in order to take over the business in a short period of time.

2.backup structure of private cloud
Backup the data of each departments, teachers and students to the cloud, and relevant data can be accessed safely at real time in any sector of the school.

Employ i2 software on relevant main and backup servers and achieve real-time backup protection for all kinds of data. Monitor at real time, recover data and achieve remote access according to specific configuration. Here is the concrete illustration:
under normal circumstance, relevant data from client terminal is backed up to sharing center through existing line automatically; when something abnormal happens, recover relevant data from sharing center.
Sharing center can achieve the sharing and dynamic distribution of server, storage and other kinds of resource by all kinds of virtualization technique. The number of server in sharing center can be expanded and distributed dynamically. In general, it is suitable to match 300 client servers with 1 sharing center server, and the number of server in sharing center can be adjusted dynamically through WEB console as the variation of the data changes every day.
I2 software decreases the quantity of data to be transmitted by the method of byte level capture, and is able to fulfill the data replication task greatly in the circumstances of limited bandwidth and bad-performance network.
3.structure of system migration
Migration data on relevant server at real time from local storage to disaster recovery server through system migration software and achieve actual migration of system online through i2soft disaster recovery solution of online system migration. Here’s the structure block:

Achieve asynchronous replication of server system and data, and online system migration with halt of service. When the migration complete, switch to the new system with one click and the system of production server stops, the OS of disaster recovery server start at the same time.
