The business systems of the Securities industry include: quotation send system, quotation delivery system, quotation reception system, quotation client server system, transaction system, Settlement system, account open system.
quotation send system, quotation delivery system, quotation reception system are mainly achieved by the high speed one way satellite between Shanghai and Shenzhen. In order to keep the high availability of the quotation, systems were kept backups through ISDN and DDN special line at the same time. The developer of these main systems is Satellite Communication Company in Shenzhen.
To achieve remote migration of about 300 virtual machines, it is planned in the first period project to migrate over 100 virtual machines to new server room, and achieve fast migration of system and application.
Purpose of project:
1.migration from original server room to new server room.
2.Support real-time online migration of system and application on x86 platform server.

Description of the project
Employ the same server environment in server room and transmit data through China Telecom bare fiber, over 100 virtual machines with their OS and data were migrated to new server room. I2Move was used to migrate their Self operating system, Margin trading system, Offer system, risk control system, transaction system, OA system, financial system and E-mail system. This project achieves one-to-one online migration of data server and application server on x86 platform.
I2Move simplifies the complex system migration, and can migrate the whole system without halt of the production system, including OS, APP, user information and net configuration. The total time of migration can be predicted, and it can switched to the new system as soon as the migration complete. We really achieve no halt during the migration.
Feature of the project
hardware-independent migration
I2Move provides unique migration process using real-time data move and hardware-independent conversion technique. OS, APP and data can be migrated swiftly to physical or virtual server with different driver, CPU or memory. The migration can be achieved between servers with different developer, different model and different configuration.
Migration without system halt
Production system don’t need to halt during the migration, and there is no influence to the production system during the process of migration of data from production server to new server. When mirror complete and all the alterations are replicated to the new server, only a short period of halt is needed before the switch.
Effective long-distance migration
High compression is achieved for data before transmission from production server to new server. During the mirror process, capture the byte level change of server, OS, APP and data continuously, save them to the cache and send them after the mirror complete, which causes no influence to the network even though there is narrow bandwidth WAN between servers. We supprot migration to new server in local server room or any another place all over the world.
Simple migration
There is centralized WEB interface to manage and monitor the whole migration process, and every step of the migration is apparent to the eye. The push type installation and one-click migration simplify greatly the complex process.
Migration mode
According to the different type of source server and target server during the migration, it has two mode: P2X(P2P and P2V), aka migration from physical server to target server, and V2X(V2V and V2P), aka migration from virtual machine to target server. Or migration between physical server(P2P) and migration involving virtual machine(P2V,V2V and V2P).
